On the outskirts of Greater Johannesburg ± 30 minutes from the old city Centre and on the Klein Jukskei River, stands this prominent four-storied Castle on 5 Ha (12 acres). The main building is of late 17th Century architectural style. We are located in tranquil Chartwell West, yet close to the main roads, shopping malls (Fourways Mall, Fourways Crossing, Broadacres Garden Centre, Cedar Square), Monte Casino, The Lion Park, Lanseria Airport, and the brand new Fourways Hospital. Our guest house is very spacious and peaceful, with a beautiful garden and swimming pool. We have the largest maze in Africa, boasting more than 900 conifers. We have five double rooms and one double suite with private bathrooms and under floor heating. They are all bright and spacious, with traditional country décor. Breakfast is served between 7:00 and 9:00 am, but if you wish to eat earlier, please let us know. We wish you a very relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Directions from O. R. Tambo International Airport
Coming out of the airport complex, follow the signs to Johannesburg. Start initially in the right hand lane. Soon you will be on the R24 highway. This road then joins the N12 (You do not take any turnoff) On the N12, get into the second or third lane from the left. You will then automatically take an offramp. As you go off to the left, the road immediately splits and you take the right fork. The road narrows to one lane and you go over the N3 highway. As you cross the highway, you go left and that takes you around and down onto the N3. You are now heading north. Stay on this road and ignore any turnoffs to Johannesburg or Pretoria. (The signs tell you that you are heading for Bloemfontein and Roodeport - that is what you want.)The N3 curves from north to west and becomes the N1 (also known as the Concrete Highway). Take William Nicol offramp. After approx. 2 km take the left off-ramp onto Witkoppen Rd. Move into the far right-hand lane immediately. Turn right into Cedar Rd. After approx. 3.5 km turn left into Third Ave.After approx. 2.5 km turn right into Hood Rd. (gravel road)
Turn right at the gate. Welcome to Chartwell Castle!
Directions from Lanseria Airport
From Airport Entrance Road turn left at 3-way stop onto R512. Turn left onto R552. At the stop street turn left, then immediately right onto Cedar Rd. Pass The Fern Shopping Centre (on your left), and at the next traffic light turn right into Third Ave. After approx. 2.5 km turn right into Hood Rd. (gravel road)
Turn right at the gate. Welcome to Chartwell Castle!
